As with Artichoke, I experimented with a number of versions of the pink Pincushion Protea plant before deciding on the looser, simplified version of it and taking heart in Picasso's words: "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."!   And might I add it makes me happy to look at it.

The little salt sprinkles are made of tiny pieces of cut paper, glued onto the background and the back of the popcorn bag, of wax paper.
